Polkadoodles Frosted Winter Coasters

Hello i said i would be back. Well last week i did a sneak peep of one of the projects i did for Polkadoodles for there Show on Create and Craft on the 8th. I do hope you saw this if not you can still catch it on line. The show featured the new cd - OCTAVIA  - FROSTED WINTER omg I so love this CD there is so much in it Papers are lush when you print they are the ones you sit and stroke BUT YOU CAN USE.  You can purchase the CD from Nikky at the shop HERE
Now if you only want to try some of images that come pre coloured or black and white then you can purchase them. But folks go for the lot you will go back for more and more.
So I thought i would try doing some up cycling and go some of those cheap coasters mine cost 75p in the reduced section. This is what you could make with just a few supplies
The images are Pre coloured printed on Mat Photo Paper
Frosted Fox
 Frosted Spines
 Frosty Penguins
 Frosty Polar family
Ok quick supplies need
Mats, Modge Podge Mat and Sparkle, Acrylic Paint
I lightly sanded the top to key
Each step must be left to dry
Base coat of paint going over the sides roughly to look like snow
Print images from CD on Photo Paper cut to size
Add thin layer of Matt Podge Podge and then lay picture on top make sure to get all air out
Next when dry add another layer of modge podge
Next another layer with some Sparkle Modge Podge
Another layer of Matt Podge  to seal
I think you could even do the top coat with some varnish to make them more durable
I would say you need 3 layers but that is up to you.
The sparkle didnt show in my pictures but it was there
So thats it leave to dry for a few days and wrap with some nice ribbon and you have a nice teachers present for a few £'s
Well hope you like and maybe try i know i will be doing some more.

A Little Pumpkin- Crafty Catz DT

Good morning a running a little late this should have been on yesterday but I guess better late than never. So I quickly share this card with you and tell you all about our new challenge at CRAFTY CATZ which has been picked by the lovely Dianne.
So her theme this week is AUTUMN COLOURS
Now you dont have to do an Autumn card/project just use the colours and these must be the colours we are allowing skin colours unless you want to do a Orange or Green Face. lol
We are sponsored this we by the very talented artist
So what did I do for my inspiration piece.
I used this cute image of a child dressed in his her Halloween costume looks like a lot of sweets there doesnt it. You can purchase the image here. Coloured my image with my Promarkers and used a Spellbinders scallop circle die to cut out and mat on a orange card. I didnt use any backing paper but embossed a piece of cream card with a Fiskers texture plate. I think the plate says feathers but to me it was the vains of the leaves that it reminded me of. I used my Distressed inks to colour the card randomly. The added touches of dylussion in left to dry. I then went over the top with some copper gliding wax. My acorn has gliding flakes on it and is attached with some twine. I didnt add a sentiment as I didnt want to take awy from the image and the embossing.
Well thats my little card i enjoyed messing with my inks and waxes and hope you like the end result.
I do hope that you can find some time to come and play along again this week.
Thanks for popping i will be back shortly with something else I enjoyed getting glued up with.

Create and Craft Sample - Polkadoodles - Octavia Frosted Winter

Hi did you see the show on Create and Craft featuring the new CD from Polkadoodles called Octivia Frosted Winter. OMG the samples fom the team where out of this world. if you missed it you can catch it on Create and Craft website.
The Cd is available to purchase also from Polkadoodles store HERE
For this sample I decided to use one of the Chalk Board Sentiments on the CD. There is so much on it that you can make amazing cards not only from the images but from the sentiments.
I kept this the Black and White theme matting the sentiment with white and a layer of silver for bling. I have used  a embossing folder on the strip, some Black sheer Ribbon. Pins to embellish and some Black gems. kept the layout very simple .
A quick card but I think you will agree an effective one.
Thanks for popping by i will have some more samples shortly.

Christmas at Craft Challenge- Santa Christmas

Good evening I am running a little behind so will quickly get on with my post. I am here to share with you my DT card for CRAFT and this week it is our CHRISTMAS Challenge.
So if you like me are trying hard to prepare early for the Christmas Season this challenge is the perfect one to help get ready.
We are sponsored this week by
So lots of prizes up for grabs.
For my card I have used a image from Karen's Doodles called Santa Christmas
I just love this image and when i think of Santa this is how I imagine him. I have gone with a Vintage feel for my card distressing the papers and using vintage style papers from Dovecraft.
My image has been coloured with Promarkers and the edges of the papers have distressed inks on. i have used some gold mirri and the dies are Memory box. Some lace and gold trim and sentiment from stash.
Well i think he is a jolly Santa and a hard working one too. So now it is over to you. Please come and join us. You can make anything to do with Christmas. We would love to see it.
Hope you like my inspiration.
Thanks for popping by.
